Natural or nothing. Never fake
Why we avoid synthetic fragrance in our products.
Synthetic fragrances come in a wide variety of scents that smell heavenly and can appeal to anyone. That may be why they have such a hold on people in todays cosmetics. When you’re smelling a cupcake scented candle or musky cologne we may be blinded by the amazing fragrance and not consider where these fragrances might’ve came from. Synthetic fragrance can be derived from petroleum byproduct which cause numerous negative effects on the skin and body.
On the skin
Over use of any type of fragrance through body wash, creams, and perfumes can lead to contact dermatitis, skin sensitivity and upset skin conditions like eczema because of its drying and irritating effects on the skin.
In the body
When these synthetic fragrances are inhaled they can irritate the respritory system, causing shortness of breathe and headaches and even hormonal imbalance.
Environment effects
When toxic chemicals of certain synthetic fragrances are washed off in the shower or even when swimming at the beach they can have negative effects on aquatic life and potentially bioaccumulate and enter the human food chain.
Natural fragrance
Essential oils even can contain a variety of benefits for the skin but also have amazing benefits such as calming inflammation, cleansing pores, and even hydrating the skin. Although essential oils are beneficial for the skin they can also be sensitizing to as well. Whenever we do decide to use a fragrance in our products its either an essential oil or all natural fragrance oil between 1%-2%.
The most beautiful fragrance is fresh air itself
Making the switch to fragrance free skin care means you won’t have to worry about the possible negative effects of fragrances such as contact dermatitis, skin/sinus irritation, and ecosystem destruction.
